CM2022 Review
In the afternoon of September 21 2022, the 24th China Mining Conference and Exhibition (CHINA MINING 2022) opened in an "online" manner. With the theme of "Sustainable Mining for Sustainable Economic Growth", this event was committed to promoting sustainable economic growth by revitalizing the mining industry to improve the ability of resource security.
The event was under the guidance of the Ministry of Natural Resources China and Tianjin Municipal People's Government, hosted by China Mining Association, and organized by Tianjin Minexpo Co., Ltd. Its content was presented online through the "Cloud Platform of China Mining Conference and Exhibition ".
The Hon. Mr. Wang Guanghua, Minister of Natural Resources PRC, The Hon. Mr. Zhang Gong, Mayor of Tianjin, and H.E. Mr. Gustavo Sabino Vaca Narvaja, Argentine Ambassador to China attended the opening ceremony and delivered video speeches respectively. The Hon. Mr. Zhuang Shaoqin, Vice Minister of Natural Resources PRC, presided over the opening ceremony. The Hon. Mr. Li Jinfa, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Natural Resources PRC and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the China Geological Survey, Mr. Peng Qiming, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of China Mining Conference and Exhibition and President of the China Mining Association, attended the opening ceremony. Diplomatic envoys from 11 countries including South Africa, Serbia, Argentina, Zambia, Namibia, Peru, Tanzania, Uruguay, Mongolia, Sudan and Mozambique attended the opening ceremony online.
CHINA MINING 2022 attracted companies and delegations from 21 countries and regions to participate online. During the event, the total number of cloud platform visits was nearly 60000. The online exhibition included six sections: natural resource management, industry associations, mining companies, geological exploration, equipment companies and service institutions. A total of 242 units in 6 categories completed the exhibition, including 30 foreign companies from Canada, Australia, Germany and other countries and regions. The exhibitors arranged the exhibition by means of videos, pictures, words, etc., showing the business scope, work results, social responsibility, important news and other contents of each unit in an all-round and three-dimensional manner.
Focusing on the theme of this session, as well as the new trends and changes in the development of the mining industry at home and abroad and the new requirements for international cooperation in the "Belt and Road" mining industry, this session set up 1 keynote session, 8 thematic streams and 2 special promotion meetings. There were 69 speakers, including 19 foreign guests from 10 countries such as South Africa, the UK, Canada and Australia. In the forums, business leaders and industry experts made speeches and discussions on topics such as supply and demand analysis, mining capital market, trading and markets of mineral products, overseas investment experience sharing, safety management in mine geology, corporate social responsibility, technological innovation and integrated development, and certified professional geologist system, etc., presenting a number of high-level and professional views for the audience.
The online National Pavilions was the new content of this session. A total of 13 countries, including China, Argentina, South Africa, Uruguay, Tanzania, Ecuador, Peru, Madagascar, Mongolia, Germany, Serbia, Zambia and Sudan, set up their own national pavilions on the cloud platform, involving four continents including Asia, Africa, South America and Europe. A total of 54 videos, 33 project introduction documents and nearly 200 mining projects were uploaded and displayed.
The Ministry of Natural Resources PRC released the China Mineral Resources (2022) on the opening day of the event, which became a window to review the overall situation of China's mineral resources in the past year. The report comprehensively reflects since 2021 China's new progress in geological and mineral survey and evaluation, mineral resources exploration and development, mine ecological restoration, green mine construction and other aspects, and new changes in mineral resources policies and regulations, new measures in mineral resources management, new trends in scientific and technological innovation, as well as new achievements of international cooperation on geology and mineral resources under the “Belt and Road Initiative”.
CHINA MINING 2022 innovated the exhibition mode, broke the restriction of traditional exhibition on "time" and "space", expanded the exhibition time, scope and content through the construction and improvement of cloud platform, so that more companies and guests can share their ideas and experience, and enhanced the influence of the exhibition. In particular, through the creation of Mining Interview, National Pavilions and workshops, the exhibition content was enriched and the exhibition effect was improved. This change made the China Mining Conference and Exhibition a big step forward in the process of achieving "never ending".
As the premier international mining summit congress and mining expo, China Mining Conference and Exhibition will strive to grasp the development trend of global mining industry, unremittingly improve its service quality, and strive to creat a more efficient platform for global mining exchange and cooperation, and help build a new development pattern of mutual promotion of domestic and international "double circulation", and promote the cooperation of countries along the "Belt and Road" in mining industry, and promote the prosperity and sustainable development of international mining industry.
The Hon. Mr. Wang Guanghua, Minister of Natural Resources PRC addressed in the Opening Ceremony of CHINA MINING 2022
The Hon. Mr. Wang Guanghua pointed out in his speech that the current world economy is still in the process of recovery, and the international mining market has become more volatile and uncertain. In the face of unprecedented challenges, it is more important than ever for all countries in the world to strengthen confidence and work together to seek cooperation space and development opportunities in mining industry. As the world's largest producer, consumer and trading nation of mineral products, China is ready to work with all parties to promote the sound development of mining industry, and jointly promote the recovery, growth and sustainable development of the world economy through opening-up and win-win cooperation. To this end, Wang put forward three proposals: First, implement the sustainable development goal and jointly provide resources for economic growth. We will improve the production and supply capacity of important mineral resources, promote the construction of green mines in an orderly manner, increase the exploration and development of new energy sources and new materials minerals, accelerate the construction of a supply and demand docking mechanism for important mineral products, and build a global mining industry chain and supply chain with complementary advantages. Second, we will vigorously promote the research, development, application and integration of new theories, new technologies, new methods, new processes and new equipment in mineral resources exploration and development. We will actively implement policies and measures to facilitate mining trade and investment, and vigorously promote the innovation of mining administration system and mechanism. Third, strengthen cooperation in key areas and jointly promote the improvement of the global mining governance system. We welcome the deep participation of all countries in promoting the high-quality development of the "the Belt and Road", promoting the docking and mutual recognition of mining strategies, policies, standards and norms, promoting the in-depth cooperation of global mining enterprises, and promoting the transformation, upgrading and sustainable development of mining industry.
