Many people use the word” uncertain” to describe the past economic situation in 2011 and the first half year of 2012. Financial crisis which had evolved into economic entity crisis in 2008 swept all over the world like tsunami. During the past 4 years, countries around the world took many bailouts, and signs of recovery had appeared many times, but world economy hasn’t boomed again until now. According to the data analyzed by OECD, the global economic growth rate of last year was 3.6% and this year will drop to 3.4%. It is unknown when the Europe debt crisis will end and global economy situation is gloomy. Downside risk of macro economy is increasing. All these situations make mining development more complicated and confusing. After global mining index’s strong rebound in May of last year, it fell sharply. Price of main minerals rose first and fell later. Since May of last year, international crude prices slumped; the supply of iron ore exceeded demand and price fell during the fluctuation. Metal price fell quickly after rose sharply in the beginning of the year. Uncertain factors like politics, economic, natural disaster, local war etc. made people’s expectation of mining recovery gloomier and made people who were positive about the mining situation embarrassed.
Most people still didn’t lose the hope despite all the difficult situations. The theme says that despite all the difficulties for mining industry development, we have firm beliefs and are ready to face all challenges ahead of us.
The faith largely depended on the global mining’s full understanding about China economy development. In fact, under the background of IMF manipulated the speed of global economy development to lower many times, many economists firmly believe that the strong development of China economy plays an important part in global economy recovery. The expectation to global economy recovery and China economy development can be seen from the figures of upcoming CHINA MINING 2012: more than 60 countries and areas, over 6000 representatives, more than 20 ministers and deputy ministers. 430 exhibitors. These figures prove scale, scale bears attraction and attraction predicts ability of contribution.
It is definite that China has become the broad global minerals market during the process of industrialization, urbanization and modernization of agriculture. The most urgent task of international society is to promote economy to develop in a healthy and fast way. To complete this task needs us to join hands and make progress together. We have entered the age of “global countryside”, so it is impossible for every single country to develop independently. Global mineral resources are not evenly distributed and geologic technology in global development is not balance. Mining management system is different from each country. “Joining hands” today is to remove the misunderstanding between countries on the basis of fully understanding this factors through the communication platform and let all negative energy transform into positive energy of developing unitedly and making progress together.

CHINA MINING 2012 arranged many sessions with rich content, more than 20 times of minister meeting-with, 9 country investments and the signing ceremony of mineral resources exploration program. Besides, exhibition area which covers an area of 25000 square meters has attracted 430 booths. We can see the CHINA MINING’s good-intensions of conducting practical cooperation from all of these arrangements.
