The 81st PDAC was held
The 81st Prospector & Developer Association of Canada (PDAC) annual event was held in Toronto Convention and Exhibition Center for 4 days since March 3rd local time. The theme was "Risk and reward in mining exploration and development". Under the background of the instability and uncertainty of the economic development, the global mining company participants focused on how to walk out of the tough stage. There were more than 3 0,000 participants from 135 countries worldwide including 500 representatives from Chinese government, research institutions, associations and enterprises attended.
The same as before, there were three exhibitions this year including trade show, exploration and investment exchange exhibition, and the core library exhibition with more than 1000 booths. The keynote sessions echoed the current global situation of mining industry, including the mining exploration and development risks, the global mining opportunities and challenges, and changeable market financing. Some successful cases in exploration and development were showed in practical way. In addition, at the opening ceremony, Joe Oliver, the Canadian natural resources minister stressed that; the PDAC will pay more attention to training in the field of exploration and development, especially in the green mining, and mining enterprise community responsibility, etc. He said, in order to improve the competitiveness of mining, Natural Resources of Canada will give more support to the exploration and development enterprises on geological mapping, technical innovation, management optimizing, government approval procedures and fiscal policies and taxes.
The Ministry of land and resources of China standing in the trade exhibition was very eye-catching with striking Chinese red. The booth showed the function of Ministry of land and resources, introduced the investment environment of mining industry in China, and the relevant cooperation projects, and promoted CHINA MINING as well. The exhibition showed Chinese breakthrough strategy on mining exploitation and comprehensive utilization of mineral resources, the green mining construction, and the achievements on mining exploration showing a good trend of mining industry and the policy based on the domestic resources of China.
On behalf of the Ministry of land and Resources, PRC, the delegation invited other representatives to attend CHINA MINING which will be held in November in Tianjin, China. Jiang Jianjun, the head of the Chinese delegation, Dept of International cooperation & Science and Technology under Ministry of Land and Resources, PRC, said that dealing with the current uncertainty, and realizing the sustainable development of mining had become global challenges in mining industry. China will continue to make progress in the geological exploration and development, and formulate relevant mining policy to promote the opening-up and cooperation.
