The 20th South Africa Mining Indaba held in Cape Town

On February 3-6, the 20th South Africa Mining Indaba was held in Cape Town International Convention Center. The conference called on related parties to increase investment and develop rich mineral resources in Africa properly.
The Hon. Ms. Susan Shabangu, the Minister of Ministry of Mining, South Africa, addressed that the cost of developing mineral resources in Africa was relatively low and what Africa need was responsible investment not just expecting quick success and instant benefits; Mining development is long-term investment; Only the investors who realize balance in mining development could get maximum benefits; Only connecting mining development with construction of infrastructures could put forward the healthy development of African mining.
Bai Xingbi, the Deputy Director-General of Department of International Cooperation & Science and Technology , the Ministry of Land and Resources, also the head of the Chinese government delegation, delivered a speech in the Non-African government forum. He introduced that Chinese government would take every effort to promote construction of ecological civilization, highly focus on support capacity of mining industry to economy, propel mining industry to realize scientific development, vigorously implement the strategic action of prospecting breakthrough based on our own country, develop green mining through comprehensive utilization of resources, continuously improve resources security, change the way of resources utilization, speed up transformation and upgrade of mining industry, focus on improve resources efficiency and strengthen foreign cooperation of mining industry especially Sino-Africa cooperative forum to reach related agreements and the progress and related polices on Sino-Africa mining cooperation to the delegates. Mr. Bai Xingbi sent out loud “Voice of China” and gained a lot of applauses from the delegates.
There were more than 7000 delegates who come from government, mining enterprises, financial sector, geological sector and service units of more than 100 countries attending the conference. Delegates had a further discussion and analysis about issues of mining development potentials in African area, global market outlook of mining commodities, African mining exploration, sustainable development and challenges and opportunities faced by African mining etc..
