Recently, reporters from the CHINA MINING 2013 which was held in Tianjin are informed that the officials in charge of the mining department from more than 10 countries, such as Canada and Australia, had delivered keynote speeches one after another. Some of them came to the booth and introduced domestic mining development and investment. They extended olive branches to Chinese mining enterprises and seeked for opportunities of international cooperation.

The Hon. Ms. Marian Campbell Jarvis, Assistant Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Minerals and Metals Division, came to Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center N5 booth yesterday promoting to Chinese mining companies, “Canadian mining capital market is developed. About half of the global mining projects financing are completed in Canada.” Marian Campbell Jarvis said. Since China and Canada had established formal diplomatic relationship more than 40 years ago, the two countries maintained good development relation, and this year they would improve the investment environment in order to attract more Chinese entrepreneurs to invest.

“Chinese brother” was used as an affectionate name to Chinese entrepreneurs by The Hon. Jorge Mayoral, State Secretary of Argentina mining industry, federal program, public investment and service division, mining industry secretariat. Jorge Mayoral said that the two sides in the cooperation in the field of mining industry could be strongly complementary and would negotiate and improve in terms of labor protection, environmental protection and public responsibilities in order to provide more business opportunities and security for Chinese companies to invest in Argentina mining industry.

“We offer ‘one-stop’ services on mining right application and the downstream factory of enterprises’ construction will also be encouraged by the government,” said The Hon. Kamal Abdel Latif, Minister of Minerals of the Sudan.

In addition, more than 10 countries, such as Peru, India, introduced their own preferential policies to Chinese enterprises, including corporate tax, mineral right term, infrastructure security, enterprise right security, etc. These mining powers’ extending olive branches implies that the influence of CHINA MINING will increasingly improve and the implementation of the strategy of “going out” has achieved positive results.
