RIYADH — The synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 will bring advanced science, technology and ideas to the country, and boost its economic and social development, said Saudi Industry and Mineral Resources Minister Bandar Alkhorayef.
He highlighted the high complementarity between the two countries in the fields of economy and trade in a recent interview, saying that while China stands at the forefront of world innovation and high-tech development, Saudi Arabia is endowed with abundant mineral resources.
Alkhorayef said the mining industry plays a pivotal role in the kingdom's Vision 2030 because mineral resource development and exploitation, as well as the production, processing and export of semifinished products, are critical for the kingdom to lessen its reliance on oil and gas resources and diversify its economy.
