China's non-ferrous metal sector reports stable growth in 2022

China's non-ferrous metal industry logged steady expansion in production and foreign trade in 2022, official data shows.

The industrial added value of the sector rose 5.2 percent year on year, 1.6 percentage points higher than the average level of all industries, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Last year, the output of 10 types of non-ferrous metals reached 67.74 million tonnes, up 4.3 percent from 2021, the data shows.

The 10 leading non-ferrous metals include copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, nickel, tin, antimony, mercury, magnesium and titanium.

In 2022, the total import and export volume of the sector stood at 327.3 billion U.S. dollars, surging 20.2 percent year on year.
