Xu Shaoshi met with 8 cuntries’ ministers of mineral resources and signed the cooperation agreement with 5 countries’ delegations

On Nov. 5, Xu Shaoshi, Minister of Ministry of Land and Resources met separately with Obert Mpofu, the Minister of Mines and Mineral Development, The Republic of Zimbabwe; Musa Mohammed Sada, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Nigeria; Côme Manirakiza, Minister of Energy and Mines, Burundi; Kamel Abdel Latif, Minister of Mines, The Republic of Sudan; Byron James Chan. MP, Minister for Mining, Papua New Guinea; Ahmed Haj Ali, Minister of Energy and Mines of The State of Eritrea; Ms. Esperanca Bias, Minister for Mineral Resources, The Republic of Mozambique; Jorge Merino Tafur, Minister, Ministry of Energy & Mines, Peru in Tianjin. They talked about further strengthening the communication and cooperation in the field of geology and mineral resources. During the meeting, Xu Shaoshi signed the cooperation agreements with delegation from Zimbabwe and the other four countries’ delegations. Xu Deming, Vice Minister of Ministry of Land and Resources attended the meeting. Xu Shaoshi welcomed and thanked the eight Ministers of Mines & Resources leading their delegations to attend CHINA MINING 2012. He hoped the two sides could further deepen the mutual understanding, expand consensus and deepen cooperation through the platform of CHINA MINING. Meanwhile he pointed out that in the past year, Chinese had adhered to open up, made full use of two kinds of resources and two markets, which resolved the problems of resource support and made extensive co operations with lots of countries in many fields like prospecting and developing mineral resources. He also said overseas technology and capital had participated in the cooperation with China’s mining and lots of big enterprises had invested in China and participated in China’s mineral resources prospect and development. Xu Shaoshi said Chinese is willing to learn the advanced technology from different countries in exploration and development of mines resources and share the advanced experiences in management of mines resources. He pointed out that we should aim at building long-term strategic partnership, keep high-level visiting and keep communication on exploration and development of mines resources, extend the cooperation fields and impel the substantial cooperation by the platform of CHINA MINING, build mechanism for sharing information and exchange information about geology and mineral to create favorable conditions for extensive cooperation of the two sides. Xu Shaoshi said, CHINA MINING 2012 had built the platform of TIANJIN MINING EXCHANGE whose businesses involved in Equity and Mineral Right Trade, etc. and will add the financing function in the future. He hoped that each country make full use of the platform and take multiple cooperation approaches to impel substantial cooperation.
