The Geonomy cooperation seminar for States in Silk Road Economic Belt was held in Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center on October 20th. Mr. Wang Min, the Deputy Minister of MLR, Mr. Jumaev Murod, Director of Department of Geological Survey of Tajikistan, MR. Imran Khan, Director of Pakistan Geological Survey, Mr. Isokov Maksud, Director of State Enterprises Institute of Mineral Resources were presented in the forum. The responsible person of Eurasian Department of Chinese Foreign Ministry addressed a keynote speech.
On the meeting, "the MLR China-Shanghai Geonomy Coop. Study Center” was established, and also a leading group was organized by the Ministry of land and resources, the Ministry of foreign affairs, China Geological Survey Bureau and other relevant departments with Wang Min as the group leader.
It was reported that “the MLR China-Shanghai Geonomy Coop. Study Center " is an open Geonomy cooperating study institution by Xi`an geology survey center supported by the Ministry of land and resources. It will take the construction of New Silk Road Economic Belt as the turning point, around the purpose of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to enrich and expand the SCO cooperation connotation, especially to promote and assist academic, educational institutions and organizations of the SCO member states in the field of Earth Science , and actively engage in international exchange, and finally the construction of the SCO member states (observers) between the development of geological survey, scientific and technological innovation, personnel training, academic exchanges, information consultation base and an important platform. The Center will set up the academic committee. Mr. Li Tingdong, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences will be the director, and 29 college scholars and experts of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States will be hired as the first members of the academic committee.
On the meeting, Mr. Wang Yan, Mr. Li Jinfa Deputy Director of Chinese Geological Survey, separately signed the bilateral agreement on cooperation projects with Mr. Imran Khan, Director of Pakistan Geological Survey, and Mr. Isokov Maksud, Director of State Enterprises Institute of Mineral Resources of Uzbekistan. Mr. Li Wenyuan, director of China Geological Survey Bureau Xi`an dispatching center introduced the relevant situation of the research center. Mr. Jumaev Murod made a presentation entitled “the progress of cooperation for China- Tajikistan, and further proposals for cooperation”. Mr. Imran Khan stated the progress for Pakistan geological survey and Silk Road nations’ cooperation ". Mr. Maksud introduced the mineral and its development potential of Uzbekistan.
The relevant officers from Technology and International Cooperation Department of MLR, Ministry of foreign affairs Eurasian division, Xi`an Geological Survey Center of China Geological Survey Bureau, and the related person in charge from Department of land and resources of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Xinjiang and other five provinces (regions), attended the seminar with the geologists from Central Asia, South Asia countries totally more than 100 attendants.
