CHINA MINING Congress and Expo 2014 opened in Tianjin focusing on international cooperation

CHINA MINING Congress and Expo 2014 was opened in Tianjin on Oct. 21st. Over 7,000 officials, scholars and business delegates from over 50 countries attended the congress.

At present, the global mining industry is undergoing profound adjustment. The price of commodities has been falling and the geological exploration activities are cooling, under the context of which this year’s CHINAMINING put great care to international cooperation.

During the Opening Ceremony, the Canadian Ambassador to China, H.E. Mr. Guy Saint-Jacques pointed out that in recent years the Chinese economy has enjoyed a rapid development. Along with the Rapid development in infrastructure construction and urbanization process, China is also in demand of more resources and energy. Canada is the largest mining industry country, which has abundant mining resources and sound environment climate. With the help of good equipment, knowledgeable and skillful technicians as well as legal services and other related security services, the cooperation between China and Russia can reach common prosperity.

H.E. Mr. Jorge Heine, Ambassador of Chilean Embassy to the People’s Republic of China also expressed their enthusiasm to cooperate with China’s mining industry.  Mr. Jorge Heine said that Chile and China signed free trade agreements in 2005 and since then the trade between the two countries has increased 30% annually. Chile has abundant copper mines, one third of the products made of which are purchased by China.“We are willing to sell the copper to China and we expect more Chinese companies to invest in Chile.”

The Hon. Mr. Ngoako Ramatlhodi, Minister of Department of Mineral Resources of the Republic of South Africa pointed out that South Africa and China have signed the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement in August, 2005 and have maintained very sound relationship.  Mr. Ngoako Ramatlhodi said that now South Africa is strengthening the development and opening up of the energy exploration projects,“ our mining industry can get benefits from the opening up of these areas.”

The Hon. Mr. Denis Khramov, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation thought that Russia has unique mining resources and China is Russia’s reliable partner. “We put our cooperation and expanding cooperation with China as the priority in our foreign policies and business cooperation.

Mr. Denis Khramov also said that Russia and China would develop effective cooperation in geological exploration, which would bring about benefits to our two peoples in nature self-repair and natural resources exploitation.
