“I came here last year, but I want to introduce Niger’s potentials of mining resources and mining management again for the purpose of persuading you to invest in Niger’s mining and conduct geological cooperation.” said the Hon. Mr.Abubakar Bawa Bwari, Minister of State, Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Nigeria on 24th, September. What he said also represents the voice of all the representatives of the third international geology geological survey.
In the forum, Cheng Qiuming, the president of International Union of Geological Sciences said the research on the international cooperation on the geological field aims to solve the geological problems. The Hon. Zack·Abu Bakar·Hassoumi , the Vice Minister of Ministry of Mines of Niger, Mr. Alexander Wei Gebu, the President of Union of African Geological Surveys and Director of Geological Survey of Nigeria, Mr. Baatartsogt Baldorj, Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia(MRPAM), Mr. Ali Najafi, Deputy Director, Geological Survey of Iran, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Ben Lahkdim, Director of Geology, Ministry of Enery, Mines and Sustainabke Development, Morocco, Mr. Moussa Berete, Deputy Director-Genenral of the National Directorate of Geology, Ministry of Mines and Geology, Guinea, Mr. Mohamed Abu Fatima Abdalla, Director-General, Geological Research Authority of the Sudan(GRAS), Ministry of Minerals, Sudan, Mr. Julio Ríos Gómez, Director, the Geological Mining Service Argentines(SEGEMAR), Oscar Bernuy Verand, President, Geological Minerals and Metallurgical Research Institute(INGEMMET), and Ms. Marian Campbell Jarvis, Assistant Deputy Minister(Lands and Minerals Sector), Natural Resources Canada, expressed their strong wishes to strengthen international cooperation on geological field while introducing their potential in mining resources and investment opportunities.
Mr. Wang Yan, Deputy Director of China Geological Survey, hosted this forum and gave a speech. He pointed out international mining has recovered but the way to the recovery is not smooth. Promoting the recovery of mining is a long-term and arduous task. International geological field and mining field should transform the development concepts, strengthen technological innovation and promote mutual benefit and win-win cooperation in a pragmatic spirit to write a new chapter for global mining development.
After the forum, with the witness of the president of International Union of Geological Sciences and the minister or directors of 11 mines countries, China Geological Survey signed with Argentina a chemical and geological science plan and a cooperative agreement of national geochemical mappings & lithium and geothermal resource survey and signed a agreement of marine geologic survey and hydro-geological research with Iran and signed a memorandum of understanding with Niger and Sudan.
