On July 17, Mr. Peng Qiming, chairman of the Organizing Committee of the China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2020 and president of the China Mining Association visited H.E. Ms. Debora Balatseng, charg d'affaires and plenipotentiary minister of the South African Embassy in China. The two sides briefly reviewed the achievements of China-South Africa cooperation in the field of mining industry, and exchanged views on South Africa's mining investment opportunities, mining investment environment under the current situation, deepening mining information exchanges and the China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2020.

Peng first expressed his gratitude to South Africa for its long-term support to the China Mining Association and the China Mining Conference and Exhibition, and introduced the preparations for China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2020. He suggested that the two sides should strengthen mining information exchange, focus on project promotion and negotiation, and promote substantive cooperation between mining enterprises of both sides in mining investment and financing, mineral product trade, technology and equipment.
Ms. Debora Balatseng highly appreciated the mining investment of Chinese enterprises in South Africa and the positive role played by local employment and economic development. She also introduced the good prospect of mining investment in the country, and looked forward to make use of the platform of China Mining Conference and Exhibition to strengthen cooperation and exchange in the mining field.
