TIANJIN —The China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2021 (CHINA MINING 2021), which concluded in Tianjin on 23rd Oct, highlighted the theme of "Multilateral cooperation, for development and prosperity of post-pandemic era",
the event aimed to jointly build a new pattern of international mining cooperation in the post-pandemic era through exchanges and cooperation among countries and regions, industries and enterprises, and promote the development and prosperity of the global mining industry.
Mr. Peng Qiming, chair of the organizing committee of CHINA MINING 2021 & president of China Mining Association, officiated the opening ceremony.
The Hon. Mr. Liao Guoxun, mayor of Tianjin, delivered the welcome speech.
Liao Guoxun pointed out that the China Mining Conference and Exhibition (CHINA MINING) has been successfully held for 22 sessions and has become the most influential and attractive platform for the international mining industry to grasp the industry trends and promote exchanges and cooperation. It is hoped that all countries should take this conference as an opportunity to advance practical cooperation at a higher level, in a wider scope and in more areas, jointly promote the development and prosperity of the global mining industry, and carve a path for the fair, open and innovative mining development.
The Hon. Mr. Ling Yueming, vice minister of the ministry of natural resources China delivered a speech.
Ling Yueming pointed out that at present, the world is undergoing global changes unseen in a century and the COVID-19 pandemic are intertwined, uncertainties of global economic recovery are rising significantly, and international mining investment has both opportunities and challenges. On behalf of China's Ministry of Natural Resources, Ling Yueming put forward three proposals: First, improve global mining governance and promote international cooperation; Second, we need to respect the rules and policy of trade, preserve the development order; Third, we should advocate green technological innovation and fulfill our social responsibilities.
H.E. Mr. Siyabonga Cyprian Cwele, ambassador of the republic of South Africa to China, delivered a speech on behalf of the supporters of the event.
Siyabonga Cyprian Cwele pointed out that China's mining investment is developing rapidly around the world, and China Mining Conference and Exhibition (CHINA MINMING) shows the latest global trends and achievements in mining. In the post-pandemic era, he hopes that countries can renew friendship and continue cooperation. South Africa will further explore mineral resources, enhance technological capabilities, continuously improve the investment environment and complete relevant policies. South Africa hopes to further strengthen cooperation with China in mining area, bringing benefit to people in both countries.
The Hon. Mr. Li Hongzhong, member of the political bureau of the CPC central committee and secretary of the CPC Tianjin municipal committee, the Hon. Mr. Lu Hao, minister of natural resources China, H.E. Mr. Siyabonga Cyprian Cwele, the South African ambassador to China, the Hon. Mr. Liao Guoxun, mayor of Tianjin, the Hon. Mr. Ling Yueming, vice minister of natural resources China, launched the event.
Diplomatic envoys from Argentina, Chile, Indonesia, Mozambique, Namibia, Peru, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania and other countries attended the opening ceremony.
After the opening ceremony, Li Hongzhong, Lu Hao, Liao Guoxun and Ling Yueming toured around the exhibition venue with the VIP guests, listened to the introduction of mineral products, and exchanged views with some foreign guests on deepening international mining cooperation.
The Hon. Mr. Zhong Ziran, director-general of China Geological Survey, then presided over the theme forum. 4 Guests delivered speeches on promoting high-quality development of mining industry and jointly promoting the prosperity and development of global mining industry.
The event is guided by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tianjin Municipal People's Government, and hosted by China Mining Association. It is held in the combination of "online + offline" mode from 21st to 23rd of October. The main activities include the opening ceremony, keynote session, breakout sessions, international mining exhibition, mining exchange shows, etc. Units and guests from 36 countries and regions participated in the event, as well as 230 exhibitors.
