CHINA MINING 2012 was held in Tianjin on Nov.4, 2012. Mr. Wang Min, Vice Minister of Land and Natural Resources, PRC and Executive Vice Chairman of CHINA MINING Organizing Committee, met with The Hon. Mr. Tolesa Shagi, State Minister of for Mines of Ethiopia. The two sides had a friendly conversation and exchanged gifts to each other. China established formal diplomatic relations with Ethiopia on November 24, 1970. The diplomatic relations between the two countries developed well, while the leaders of Ethiopia had visited China for many times. The two countries enjoyed profound traditional friendship, and well development of bilateral relations, especially in the scope of mining. CHINA MINING 2012 was held in Tianjin on Nov.4, 2012. Mr. Xu Shaoshi, the Minister of Land and Natural Resources, PRC and the Chairman of CHINA MINING Organizing Committee, met with The Hon. Mr. Ove Karl Berthelsen, Minister for Minerals and Petroleum, Bureau of Minerals and Petroleum (BMP), Greenland Government. There are abundant natural resources in Greenland, and the reserves of petroleum and natural gas are appreciable on the land and offshore. There are about 31billions reserve of petroleum in the northeast of Greenland, as double as exploited in the west. At present, Greenland has become one of the hottest spots in the world, and been active in exploiting iron, gold, nickel, platinum group metals, uranium, diamond, gem, etc.

Organized by China Development Bank in August, 2012, China Communications Construction Company, China Transportation Construction Group, Sichuan Metallurgical Geological Prospecting Bureau, Xinye Mining Investment Company, Chengdu Baiyue Earth Mineral Company and other enterprises got in touch with The Oil and Mineral Resources Bureau, and London Mineral Company, and shared the opinions for the future cooperation.  In addition, some domestic private enterprises are actively taking the mineral exploring activities in Greenland.（translated by TLRHVC） About CHINA MINING
